Guide for Parents of Asian/Asian American Adolescents

During the pandemic, there has been a steep rise in racial discrimination, harassment, and physical assaults against Asian American youth. Parents play a key role in supporting children who may face these attacks or see this behavior around them.

This guide was developed to provide parents with the knowledge and skills to effectively support their children. How to bring up the topic of racism in your conversation with your child? What to say to your children when they ask about recent hate crimes? The guide currently available in five languages: English, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese on williamjames.edu/parentguide.

To learn more about how to use the toolkit, you can check out the recording of our webinar: Talking to Teens about Anti-Asian Discrimination in the Era of COVID-19.

New: Get more resources for fighting and coping with anti-AAPI racism on our new landing page dedicated to this topic.
